2009 SEASON - WE ARE OPEN         MAY to OCT

Welcome to "Wavefarer Surf Breaks 2009"

We provide holiday accommodation in a traditional Landes property that has been modernised and referbished. We cater for families and groups looking for a holiday base in S.W.France

Our aim is to provide guests with comfortable acccommodation with access to great beaches and some of the best surf in Europe.  The "Wavefarer Surf Lodge" is based in Mimizan, a coastal town in the Aquitaine region of France.  Mimizan is located south of Bordeaux and north of Biarritz.

An activity holiday in France will allow you to enjoy all the benefits of warm weather,  sandy beaches, waves that have attracted surfers and major surf competitions to places like Hossegor and surrounding beaches for many years. There are cycle paths and walks through huge pine forests and by secluded lakes.  Mimizan is only two hours drive away from the Pyrenees and Spain.

Because of our local knowledge we can direct our guests to a number of activity & sports centres in the area.  We are close to an adventure playground, quad bike centre and a golf course. We are very close to a lake with its own sandy beach, ideal if you have small children and the sea-surf looks a bit daunting!  The lake is also popular with windsurfers.

If you are a Surf Group  we can direct you to local surf schools and shops (and a local surf board factory) or advise on where to find the best surfbreaks.

For guests who like to try something different  we can introduce them to Tandem Skydiving.

The "Wavefarer Surf Lodge" provides guests with an atmospheric, affordable base for a great holiday in South West France. The accommodation  is self catering and you will find that everything  provided will make the lodge a "Home from Home".  At the end of the day you can relax in the evening sun, after a day away, and sit out on the back terrace under a canopy of vine leaves supping a cool drink while you light up the BBQ.
